The Canon EOS C700 is high spec cinema video camera that incorporates a wide range of technologies and features to provide users with one of the best tools to create broadcast quality video. The EF mount C700 features a 4.5K sensor and three DIGIC DV 5 processors to enable internal 4K DCI recording at up to 50fps (Pal) in XF-AVC 4:2:2 or Apple ProRes.
The C700 also features a modular design that can be configured to accommodate your needs, giving you great flexibility and versatility.
Other powerful video features include: 15 stops dynamic range, high speed 2K/HD up to 200 fps, Canon Log 2 and 3, Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF), up to 10-stops internal ND, a positive-locking mechanism mount, Anamorphic lens support, and 4K Raw recording when using an optional module.
High bit-rate 4K DCI/UHD recording and 15 Stops of dynamic range.
The Canon C700 can record 4K DCI/UHD 10-bit 4:2:2 files internally at up to 810Mbps, or 2K/Full HD 10/12-bit 4:4:4 files in 2K/Full HD, and with up to 15 stops of dynamic range. The high bit rates produces crisp and wide colour spectrum videos, while the high dynamic range captures more details in dark shadows and bright highlights.
Great in any light - ISO 100 to ISO 102400 and up to 10-stops ND
The new Canon-designed Super 35mm CMOS sensor in the C700 delivers a versatile light sensitivity of ISO 100 up to ISO 102,400 for exceptional low light performance. Additionally, built in neutral density (ND) enables 5 settings of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 stops, enabling you to use wider apertures and/or slower speeds for more creative exposure control.
Exceptional ergonomics and flexible modular design
The Canon EOS C700 is full size cinema camera and features a completely new modular design that greatly differs from previous Cinema EOS products. The camera body includes built in cheese plates with numerous 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 threaded holes on the top and bottom to easily attach accessories. The top handle attaches in a variety of positions for assisting in achieving optimum balance.
Both sides of the camera can have redundant main displays with menus and controls. A built in control panel on the camera operator side allows quick access to the camera controls. Canon's optional new Remote Operation Unit OU-700 attaches to the camera's right side and mimics all the functions of the built-in Main Display. It conveniently flips up for access to the CFast and SD card slots. This allows for camera operation from both sides of the camera making camera adjustment easy for both operator and assistant.
An intuitive six button layout of the menu system allows quick access to frequently used camera functions such as ISO, shutter, slow and fast motion, etc. and may instantly feel very familiar and comfortable to camera operators. Within each quick access function is the ability to access deeper menu options so complete camera control and customization is always accessible while the menu remains clean and easily usable.
Canon Log 2 and 3
The Canon EOS C700 supports Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 Gamma. Canon Log makes post-process grading, toning and exposure correction more effective as it captures a wider tonal range.
Canon Log 2 puts emphasis on post-production grading, and maintains better detail in dark areas compared to the original Canon Log. With this curve, up to 15 stops of dynamic range can be realized in a single frame.
Canon Log 3 uses a gamma that simplifies grading by tightening dark areas and adjusting gradation, making it a gamma that makes noise less noticeable and widens dynamic range while retaining Canon Log's ease of use.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF) and Dual Pixel Focus Guide for manual focus
The EOS C700 features Canon's legendary Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF) autofocus technology. DAF works by reading two independent signals from each photosite with phase-difference to provide much faster, smoother and more accurate focus than was possible with previous technologies.
For manual focusing DAF also features Dual Pixel Focus Guide that presents the user with a rectangle in the center of the optional EVF or monitor. The rectangle turns green when the subject is in focus. If the subject is out of focus the box will turn gray and the arrows will indicate which way to adjust the lens to regain focus
Face detect autofocus
Face detect AF can track a person's face in the frame and maintain focus on them, even in crowded areas.
