New sealed windshield design
A new sealed windshield design further reduces wind noise, giving you crisp sound when shooting outdoors.
Auto power-on/off
When switching on your connected camcorder/DSLR, the Rode VideoMic Pro+ will detect plug-in power from the camera and automatically switch on. When your done recording and there is no longer any power on the cable then the microphone will automatically switch off.
Powered by either the included LB-1 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery or 2x AA batteries
The Rode VideoMic Pro Plus includes a LB-1 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery that can provide the mic with over 100 hours of power. While recording or when turned off the microphone's LB-1 battery can be charged via USB. If the included battery is not an option then you can power the mic with two AA batteries. A built-in battery door makes replacing batteries a breeze, and it won't get lost.
Audio safety channel
The audio safety channel makes use of both the left and right audio channels (available on most cameras), and reduces the right channel's sensitivity by 10db to help ensure the signal does not clip when unexpected spikes occur.
Rycote lyre suspension
The Rycote Lyre based shock mounting system separates the VideoMic Pro+ capsule and electronics from its mount, providing isolation from external physical factors that may cause unwanted rumble and vibrations in the microphone. Constructed from a single piece of hard-wearing thermoplastic, the Lyre provides superior acoustic suspension to traditional elastic solutions, and will never wear out, sag or snap.
Removable connection. 3.5mm output port instead of a fixed cable
On the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus the 3.5mm jack cable is no longer fixed to the microphone, now if you want to use different length or mini jack cables you can simply plug it into the 3.5mm port on the rear of the microphone.
Two-stage high pass filter: 75hz and 150hz
A two-stage high pass filter option enables shooting clear audio in a variety of conditions. 75hz will reduce low frequencies such as rumble from traffic while 150hz will reduce sound from outside of the human frequency range.
Three stage gain +20db, -10db, 0db
20db, -10db, and 0db gain is selectable from a single button on the rear of the microphone. -10db will enable you to record loud subjects without clipping the audio, while +20db is designed to improve audio quality on DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
High frequency boost
High Frequency Boost will boost high frequencies enhancing detail and clarity in the recording.
