Wide maximum aperture of f/1.8
The Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD lens features a wide maximum aperture of f/1.8. The wide aperture allows the lens to excel in low/dim light by enabling it to capture at up to 4 times more light than an conventional zoom lens; as well as enabling you to capture a shallow depth of field to blur your background and make your subject stand out.
VC (Vibration Compensation)
VC (or more commonly know as IS or VR) greatly reduces vibrations from handheld shots to produce sharper and clearer images.
Close Focusing Distance of 29cm (0.29m)
The Tamron SP 45mm features a floating system design to offer a best-in-class close focusing distance of 29cm. The floating system design feature seamlessly optimizes image quality by shifting elements relative to the focus group in close shooting situations.
Nine-blade diaphragm
A nine-bladed diaphragm keeps the aperture in a circular shape to deliver a nice and smooth background blur.
Low dispersion elements
One LD (Low Dispersion) element helps to minimize chromatic aberrations in order to achieve greater clarity with reduced colour fringing.
Aspherical elements
Two aspherical elements helps to reduce aberrations, distortion, and flare to help produce clear and artifact free images.
Fluorine Coating
A fluorine coating offers a long-lasting oil and water resistance to the lens. Moisture and smudges easily wipes away, making it easy to keep your lens clean.
eBAND and BBAR Coating
An eBAND (Extended Bandwidth and Angular-Dependency) coating, and a nBBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating suppresses element surface reflections that causes ghosting and flares.
Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD)
A USD actuator inside the lens converts ultrasonic waves into rotational motion that delivers a near silent autofocus with responsiveness, smoothness, accuracy, and speed. The lens can also be manual focused at any point while the AF system is operating without having to fumble for a switch.
